DIY Drumsticks!!

To make these tasty treats, round up the following:

  • Ice cream cones
  • Ice cream in your favorite flavors
  • 2 bottles magic shell or make your own! - covers 6-9 cones
  • Nuts (opt.
Steps:

  • Drizzle Magic Shell into the cones and swirling to coat.
  • For an extra treat, add a maraschino cherry or frozen berry to the bottom of the cone
  • Pop 'em in the freezer for a good 10 minutes.
  • While you're waiting, take the ice cream out of the freezer to let it soften up.
  • Drumsticks sometimes have a mysterious, magical chocolate center! They didn't when I was a kid, but I fully support this new addition.

To make our chocolatey guts, we'll need:
    • Wax or parchment paper
    • Scissors
    • Tape
    • Pencil, pen, chopstick or something similar in shape.

Make small cones with the wax paper around your pencil and tape.

Fill the paper cones with Magic Shell and freeze!
  • By the time your ice cream is nice and melty, all of the stuff in the freezer should be ready!

I recommend doing this in a different order than is illustrated, so try to keep up here. Do as I say, not as I did.

    • Wrap your cones in wax paper, and cut tops to about 2" above the edge of the cone. (I made a template so I could cut 6 at a time.)
    • Fill cones with melty ice cream up to the top of the cone.
    • Unwrap the chocolate spears you made and place them in the cones
    • Top off the cones with remaining ice cream to within 1/2" of the wax paper

Return to freezer for a few minutes
  •  If you're topping with nuts, make sure they're finely crushed.
    • Place nuts in a plastic bag
    • Smash with a hammer

    Remove cones from freezer.

    • Pour a small amount of Magic Shell on top of the cones. Quickly add chopped nuts (now that the ice cream's refrozen, the magic shell will set up quickly!)
    • Alternatively, leave the cones in the freezer until very firm, remove wax paper and dip the entire top of the cone into a bowl of magic shell and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

Wrap in decorative paper for extra wow! These make awesome party treats.

Dipped Ice Cream Bowls, or Cones!

    Kit-Kat Ice Cream Cake

    Ingredients
    • 1 cake mix (used: Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate)
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 cup water
    • 1/2 cup canola oil
    • Filling:
    • 2 quarts chocolate ice cream (used: Blue Bell Dutch Chocolate)
    • Toppings:
    • 10 standard size Kit Kat candy bars
    • 2 cups M&Ms
    Instructions
    1. Bake cake according to package directions. Cool, remove from pans, and then freeze for about 1 hour. While cake is freezing, prepare icing.
    2. Place ice cream into refrigerator for 30 minutes to soften. Fill frozen cake layers with ice cream, smoothing it out evenly with spatula. Sandwich layers together with ice cream facing ice cream. Place filled cake on serving platter and freeze for another 2 hours.
    3. Remove from freezer and ice with icing. Break apart Kit Kat bars into single bars and line them around cake, allowing each one to stand above the cake's edge by about 1/4". Fill top with 1 cup M&Ms, then fill bottom with remaining M&Ms. Tie with bow if desired and keep in freezer until ready to serve.
    4. Allow cake to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before cutting to make for easier cutting.

    Chocolate covered peanut butter bananas!

    2 large bananas
    1/4 cup natural peanut butter
    1/2 cup chocolate chips
    1/4–1/3 cup milk of choice

Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper or parchment. Slice bananas into coins about 1/2–3/4 inch thick. Spread a little dollop of peanut butter on top of each one. In a small bowl, combine the chocolate chips and milk. Microwave in 15 second increments until you can whisk them together. You want it to be a dipable consistency, not spreadable. Add a splash more milk if necessary. Dip the banana chunks using a fork as a little chocolate coating forklift, dipping them into the melted chocolate. Place chocolate coated bananas on the prepared sheet and place in freezer until completely frozen (3–5 hours). Remove frozen banana chunks from the sheet and store in a freezer container.
